Christiane Behrmann ~ Artist and Spiritual Teacher
About Christiane
Born in Aschaffenberg, Germany, Christiane is the eldest of six siblings and at an early age would escape their small home to spend time in the surrounding forest and nature. She formed a bond with nature early on, which today is still reflected in her work.
After studying lithography and graphic art in her youth, Christiane immigrated to South Africa in the 1970’s with her family, and soon after started following her calling as an artist. Raising her children alongside her career as an artist, she soon made a name for herself in Pretoria where she lived, and exhibited at a number of prestigious galleries where she was the recipient of various art prizes for her works.
Her curiosity and love of art have motivated her to continually try different mediums and techniques, giving her work a varied look and feel. Her works include oil, water colour and acrylic paintings, pen & ink work, drawings in pastel and graphite, and sculptures from ceramic, stone, glass and wood, and a variety of knitted artwear. In 1991 Christiane started teaching holistic art lessons to help students find their inner child and creative streak. In recent years, she has added digital photography and mystic multimedia art to her portfolio.
Her deep connection with nature also inspired Christiane to seek answers to spiritual questions. This led to her discovery of a talent for spiritual artwork, which is guided through her higher self. She offers commissioned guide paintings, and life guidance tarot readings to offer spiritual support to others.
Her paintings and sculptures can be found in private collections in the USA, Australia, Holland Switzerland, Germany and South Africa.
